The Urban League of Kansas is soliciting the community’s help in identifying outstanding individuals within the community who deserve recognition in one of the following award categories.  

Community Advocate Award

This award recognizes the exceptional contribution of an individual that continues and unwavering advocacy towards the growth and betterment of their community by promoting an idea or a cause that benefits the community.

Emerging Leader Award

 Presented to a person who is under the age of 40, a change maker, has demonstrated leadership and believes in community engagement.

 Whitney M. Young Leadership Award

Named after the CEO of the National Urban League, a Civil rights leader, Whitney M. Young who was at the forefront of racial integration and African American economic empowerment.

This award recognizes a person who has cultivated and enhanced the leadership capabilities of individuals and organizations that serve our community through corporate management.

Willie Kendrick Small Business Award

Presented to a small business (with 500 or less employees) that shows empowerment through business and community Involvement. Believes in promoting entrepreneurism within our community.  

Corporate Diversity Award

This award recognizes and celebrates a corporate business who has shown great dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion within their corporate structure as well as encouraging others to strive for such an unparalleled standard of excellence.

The awards will be presented at the Urban League’s 2025 Equal Opportunity Gala on Thurs., May 1, at the Holiday Inn Select East, Wichita.
