The Kansas Office of Information Technology Services announced Kimberly DeWitt as the State’s Chief Data Officer. Creation of the newly established position reflects a growing recognition of the importance of data in state government.
“Data … can unlock endless possibilities for serving Kansans,” said DeWitt. “By fostering collaboration, promoting data-driven decision-making, and advocating for innovation, I am excited to demonstrate how data can empower state agencies.”
DeWitt brings 20+ years of experience in information technology (IT) leadership to her role, including expertise in data analytics, strategy, and project management. Her private-sector experience includes leadership roles at organizations like Card Compliant, Sprint, and Black & Veatch, where she focused on technology implementation and data-driven solutions.
Dewitt last appeared in The Voice as a candidate for the District 35 Kansas House seat in Kansas City, KS. She lost in the primaries.
