The Wichita Public Schools will again be offering free breakfast and lunch to children all across Wichita, whether or not they are USD 259 students.

The food will be available at many different locations across the city and requires no application or registration. Meals will be served to children from age 1 to 18 starting May 28 and running through July 26.

All meals  must be eaten on-site, but children can take one fruit or grain from their meal off-site to eat later. Parents and guardians cannot pick up meals for children. The child must be present to eat on-site.

There will be yard signs and large yellow signs to show children which door to enter for breakfast or lunch.

The meals served are healthy and follow USDA nutrition guidelines. Breakfast will include: 1 serving grain, 1 serving fruit or juice and 1 serving milk;

Lunch will include: 1 serving grain, 1 serving protein, 1 serving fruit, 1 serving vegetable, 1 serving milk. Protein may include: yogurt, cheese stick, and other protein sources.
