Kansas City is offering its residents a unique opportunity to delve into the inner workings of their local community and government through the Community Engagement University (CEU).
The free program, spearheaded by the City’s administration, serves as a conduit for active community members eager to enhance their understanding of municipal operations and contribute to the betterment of their neighborhoods.
The CEU presents a comprehensive nine-week curriculum designed to bridge the gap between citizens and city services. From deciphering the intricacies of municipal finances to fostering discussions on building sustainable communities, the program aims to empower residents with the knowledge and tools necessary to effect positive change.
To participate, you must be a Kansas City, MO, resident and at least 18 years old. Those who attend a minimum of seven out of the nine sessions will also receive a certification from the city. Classes take place every Tuesday from March 26 to May 21. Class sessions run from 6 to 8:30 p.m., and all course materials are provided.
