It’s that time of the year again/ Time for nominations for Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) teacher of the year.
The purpose of the KCPS Teacher of the Year program is to recognize extraordinary classroom teachers’ contributions at each of the district’s 40 schools.
Research shows, teacher quality and effectiveness are the most important school-based factors impacting student learning. So it is important to the district to support and recognize KCPS teachers who are creating a learning environment where children flourish and grow.
Towards that end, the KCPS Education Foundation sponsors the KCPS Teacher of the Year Program as a way to honor, promote and celebrate excellence in the teaching profession. In addition, the program helps promote KCPS teachers for regional, state and national recognition.
Parents, students and KCPS employees are encouraged to submit nominations for Teacher of the Year.
