Tickets for the Kansas City performance of the national touring production of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. go on sale Thurs., Sept.22. The new touring production tells the story of Aretha Franklin through a soundtrack of the hits that made her the Queen of Soul.
R.E.S.P.E.C.T. will will be on stage at the Kauffman Center on Wednesday and Thursday, November 15 and 16, at 7:30 p.m.
Following a national search, newcomer Trejah Bostic was selected as lead for the play. This will be Bostic’s first national tour, but just a brief listen to the stylings and voice of the North Carolina A&T graduate and you’ll feel comfortably, Aretha would be please.

Bostic is excited and nervous about her role.
“I feel the pressure from myself and just from knowing how important Aretha Franklin is and how talented she was,” she said. Bostic describes Areatha Franklin as having an anointed and effortless voice.
The play features favorite hits “Natural Woman,” “Think,” “I Knew You Were Waiting for Me,” “Chain of Fools,” “Respect,” and many more.
This brand-new production is adapted from McGee Entertainment’s Australian touring smash-hit, RESPECT—The Aretha Franklin Story starring Angie Narayan (Australian Idol), also known as Australia’s “Soul Mama”, which continues to play to sold out audiences across Australia intentional.
