A number of events are planned in recognition of the 65th anniversary of the 1954 Supreme Court decision in ‘Oliver Brown et. al., v. Topeka Board of Education, including a talk by Ta-Nehisi Coates, the author of the bestselling books “The Beautiful Struggle,” “We Were Eight Years in Power,” and “Between the World and Me,” which won the National Book Award in 2015.
A free conversation with Ta-Neishi Coates, will be held on Thurs., April 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Topeka at Washburn University’s Lee Arena. Although the event is free, registration is required. Register at http://bit.ly/2DeraO4.
