The 8th Annual Art That Touches Your Heart (ATTYH) was held at Wichita State’s Rhatigan Student Center on Feb. 22 & 23.

ATTYH Program Director Aaron Profit showcased dancers, singers and poets. Teen Jayda Kelly received a standing ovation for her original poem during the two-day event.

The featured art was African Artifacts by Mohammed Sharif, former WSU basketball player Kelly Pete.

This year’s inductees into the Black Educators Hall of Fame were: Cheryl McFarthing, Lavonta Williams, Brenda Nunley, Julius McLaurian, Renette Johnson, Gloria McAfee and Johnathan Wells, Sandra Rankin, Janice Mills, Clarence Wesley, Terry Guidry and Augusta Gooch.  

WSU’s Office of Diversity helped sponsor the evening.
