DESCRIPTION:The Brown v Board Anniversary Coalition is partnering with The Brown Foundation\, to bring nationally renowned civil rights lawyer Ben Crump to Topeka\, Kansas\, this May for the 72nd anniversary commemoration of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case. \n\n\n\nHere’s more: \n\n\n\nAlso taking the stage will be Grammy Award-winning performance poet J. Ivy\, the recipient of a Peabody Award and an NAACP Image Award. \n\n\n\nAccording to organizers\, Crump (who published his debut novel “Worse Than a Lie” this month) will deliver a keynote echoing the gravity of what it means to honor Brown today. \n\n\n\nAs the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence approaches this summer\, Crump is expected to reflect on what it means to recommit to the country’s foundational promise of “liberty and justice for all.”
