My name is Joseph Alexander “Slightly Below Average Height.” I’m from all over\, but right now I live in Indiana. I attend Unity of Louisville\, where I have been a committed member for almost my whole life. One might say I’m a Uni-fetus! \nI’ve been doing my best for my Unity community for a while\, with hours of volunteer work and a hand always out to help. Last year I served as one of the regional officers for the Great Lakes Region YOU\, along with my two cohorts\, Alex Bornstein and Maddie Chapman. \nI am a free spirit\, so I’m ready to go where spirit beckons me! Right now I think I want to be a hospital chaplain under the Unity mantle. Some of my hobbies are reading\, spending time with friends\, and learning more about people. (Training will be offered in June.)\nHave on file with your home ministry a background check done within the last two years.\nBe a designated event sponsor at the event. This means that you are the adult responsible for one or more teens at the event. DESCRIPTION:Are you a Middle or High School jazz musician? Join the KC Jazz Academy this July for a 5-day jazz intensive with jazz artists & educators.\n\n\nThe American Jazz Museum is proud to present the 2026 Kansas City Jazz Academy Instrumental Combo Camp. This summer program provides excellent jazz instruction for middle and high school students interested in improving their skills beyond what they’d normally receive in a traditional public/private school music program. \nIts instrumental combos are led by a faculty of esteemed artist and educators with a focus on style\, history\, theory\, ear training\, song forms\, repertoire\, and musicianship. Additional clinics and masterclasses are presented by national and international jazz musicians and educators. \nAuditions and Camp will be held in the Gem Theater from 1 PM – 3 PM on Sunday\, July 12. Summer camp check in starts Monday\, July 13th at 9:00 am inside the Gem Theater. Several have family members currently in remission \nwhile others have suffered heartbreaking losses. DESCRIPTION:The Friends of the Wichita Public Library (FWPL) organization has announced that the next sale of donated books will be held on Saturday\, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Advanced Learning Library (711 W. 2nd Street). The event is open to the public and customers may either purchase an FWPL cloth tote bag and fill it for $10 or bring a previously purchased FWPL bag (red\, green\, blue or purple with FWPL logo) and fill it for $5. Library-themed 150th anniversary merchandise will also be sold. \nPaid members of FWPL may attend a special member-only preview book sale on Friday\, July 10 at the Advanced Learning Library from 5 to 6:30 p.m. FWPL memberships range from $15 to $150 and can be purchased at the preview event. A membership application is also available online at wichitalibraryfriends.org/shop. Proceeds from the book sale will benefit the Wichita Public Library by helping to fund literacy initiatives\, branch programs and author events. \nBook donations: \nGifts of books and other materials (music CDs\, magazines\, movie DVDs\, audiobook CDs and sheet music) that are in good condition are accepted year-round at any Library location during open hours. DESCRIPTION:Friends of the Wichita Public Library Hosting Ice Cream Socials this Summer \nThe Friends of the Wichita Public Library (FWPL) volunteers are celebrating the Wichita Library’s 150th anniversary this summer with seven free events. \nMembers of the organization will be handing out free ice cream sandwiches at local library branches (while supplies last). Bring a friend\, say hello\, and enjoy a sweet treat during your next library visit. \nAll events will be held from 1 – 2:30 p.m.\, or until the ice cream runs out! \n• June 6 at Alford – 3447 S. Meridian\n• June 13 at Evergreen – 2601 N. Arkansas\n• June 27 at Walters – 4195 E.
