DESCRIPTION:Kansas-based Pink Floyd tribute sensation AmeriFloyd will take the stage at The Cotillion for a powerful night of music\, remembrance\, hope\, and community support benefiting the American Cancer Society. Billed as “America’s Premier Pink Floyd Tribute Show\,” the event aims to establish a new benchmark for benefit concert attendance in Wichita while honoring cancer survivors\, fighters\, caregivers\, and families throughout Kansas affected by cancer. Every performer in the band is from Kansas and has been directly impacted by cancer through family members\, close friends\, or loved ones. Several have family members currently in remission while others have suffered heartbreaking losses. The concert is dedicated to survivors\, fighters\, caregivers\, and those remembered. “This is much more than a concert\,” said Paul Steger\, founder and producer of AmeriFloyd. “Every member of this production has experienced cancer’s impact firsthand. As a member of the Miles Davis Quintet that pioneered a groundbreaking sound in jazz\, he also developed new approaches on his own recordings\, followed by his work in the 70s — with record-breaking albums such as “Headhunters” — that combined electric jazz with funk and rock in an innovative style that continues to influence contemporary music.
