Hosted through the continued partnership of Spoken Word Productions\, Blacklight Poetry\, and PLPG Ltd Co\, this event centers poetry as both art and competition. \n \nPoets will compete in three structured rounds\, going head-to-head to captivate judges and engage the audience through originality\, delivery\, and command of the stage. Each round raises the intensity\, narrowing the field until top performers emerge. \n \nIn addition to the competition\, the evening features an open mic\, welcoming community voices and emerging poets to share their work and experience the energy of the slam stage. \n \nBattle Barz is also part of the larger Poet Warz competition series in Oklahoma\, with the top two poets earning the opportunity to advance toward the statewide championship and compete for a $1\,000 grand prize. With $500 in prizes\, a championship belt\, and serious bragging rights on the line\, the stakes are high and the performances unforgettable. \n \nWhether you come to compete\, perform\, or witness elite spoken word artistry\, Battle Barz is a celebration of poetry as sport\, storytelling\, and cultural expression—all in one electrifying night.
