SUMMARY:BREAKING BARRIERS
DESCRIPTION:A contemporary ballet with works choreographed by Yusha-Marie Sorzano and Sandra Parks \n\n\n\n\n\nBreaking Barriers is an evening of contemporary ballet. The production will feature two works: one inspired by the Dockum Sit-In that explores systems of power\, resistance\, and collective change through movement\, drawing on Wichita’s history and lived experience\, and one honoring the influential women in Wichita’s history whose leadership and courage helped shape our community. \n\n\n\nFeaturing choreography by guest artists Yusha-Marie Sorzano and Sandra Parks\, this production examines how persistence\, perseverance\, and presence can challenge long-standing structures and move change forward. \n\n\n\nTogether\, these works create a layered contemporary performance that invites audiences to reflect on history\, humanity\, and how change happens.
