Florida Gov. Ron Desantis Booed at Vigil in Jacksonville, FL

Three Black people were killed in Florida by a white, 21-year-old man who left behind white supremacist ramblings. The incident has led to frustration and exhaustion among the community, with hundreds gathering at prayer vigils and in church to mourn the attack. Republican Governor Ron DeSantis was booed as he addressed the vigil, but he announced that financial support would be provided for security at Edward Waters University and for the affected families. The gunman had legally purchased an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and a Glock handgun despite being involuntarily committed for a mental health examination in 2017.
