Friday, Nov. 30, is the last day for low-income families and individuals to apply for assistance this holiday season through Inter-Faith Ministries’ Operation Holiday.
To qualify for assistance and receive nonperishable food items, winter wear, blankets and other basic needs through Operation Holiday, households must apply in-person at one of 10 application sites.
Distribution of goods will take place Dec. 13-15 at the Operation Holiday warehouse located at Towne West Mall (4600 W. Kellogg, NW corner between Dick’s and Convergys).
Applicants must provide proof of identification and income, and meet certain income requirements to qualify.
For example, a family of three cannot qualify if their monthly income is $2400 or more per month. Also, households may only receive assistance through Operation Holiday or Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, but not both.
More info on eligibility and application locations and hours can be found at OperationHoliday.org or by calling Inter-Faith Ministries at 316-264-9303.
Donations for Operation Holiday will be accepted through early Dec. through collection boxes at Inter-Faith Ministries and partner organizations throughout the city: non-perishable food, grocery store gift cards, both new and gently used winter wear, blankets, pet food, and new toys.
